Framing Curriculum the Right Way

The field of education is dynamic and ever-evolving. New changes are introduced frequently in education to meet the changing needs of the students. Hence, the most fundamental issue before the educationists is to understand and ideate the ideal ways of framing a curriculum that is in sync with the needs of the students.

Curriculum Should Focus on Technology

Indeed, it is time that educationists realise that students need to be considered the ultimate stakeholders while preparing curriculum. Understandably, students remain the ultimate beneficiaries of the education system.

Hence, it is important to consider that the syllabi that are prepared are application-oriented, meaning these are beneficial in daily life. Similarly, technology has dominated every aspect of human life. Hence, it is also ideal to introduce a curriculum that helps students get acquainted with modern technology skills.

For instance, technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, the internet of things (IoT), space exploration, etc. are now some major topics of discussion for young learners. Hence, students should be exposed to the basics of these technologies during their formative years of learning.

Skillset Development is Necessary

The curriculum should also focus on developing the skill set of students which will help them to explore wider career options and bag employment opportunities. Additionally, the curriculum should have ethical dynamics as well. To put it in simpler terms, students should be informed about smart work culture, abiding by the laws, being empathetic, leadership, etc. to help them develop levels of high morale.

Thus, the Indian academic curriculum should be well thought through by experts and needs a subtle revamp. It should match up with the requirements of the changing times to develop students into brighter citizens of tomorrow. Simply put, a student-friendly curriculum is the need of the hour.
